In the third quarter of 2021, the performance of the top five travel and local apps on the Android platform in the Netherlands showed diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the data from Sensor Tower.

Reisapp experienced a notable decrease in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 30K in late June and ending at around 6.2K by the end of September. Despite this decline, the app maintained a relatively stable number of weekly active users, peaking at around 135.9K mid-July and concluding the quarter with roughly 99K active users.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel showed a downward trend in weekly downloads, beginning with around 11.7K in late June and dropping to approximately 7.7K by the end of September. The app’s weekly active users also saw a decline from about 245K in late June to roughly 207.2K at the quarter's end.

The NS app saw a fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at around 7.9K in late June, peaking at about 14.7K in mid-August, and then dropping to roughly 6.5K by the end of September. However, the number of weekly active users exhibited a positive trend, increasing from around 64.3K in late June to approximately 78.6K by the end of the quarter.

Efteling had a consistent decrease in weekly downloads, beginning with about 9.5K in late June and ending with roughly 5K by the end of September. The app’s weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between approximately 13.2K and 11K throughout the quarter.

Lastly, Social Deal - The best deals displayed an interesting trend in weekly downloads, starting at around 3.8K in late June, peaking at about 13K in early August, and closing the quarter at approximately 6.2K. The weekly active users saw growth from around 65.5K in late June to roughly 68.4K by the end of September.
